Boundary Encounters Visual Identity

Modern Art Oxford's groundbreaking summer programme, Boundary Encounters, required a comprehensive visual identity that would revolutionise how visitors engage with contemporary art spaces. Our studio developed a sophisticated yet playful design system—anchored by a dynamic visual mark inspired by Communities of Practice—that celebrates social learning and artistic dialogue.

Space Branding

The project seamlessly merges educational outreach with cutting-edge design thinking, transforming Modern Art Oxford's cultural programming into an accessible, community-driven experience.

By crafting adaptable design elements that work across multiple touchpoints, we've created a visual framework that not only supports the institution's "breaking boundaries" motto but also facilitates meaningful connections between staff, artists, and visitors—establishing a new paradigm for cultural engagement in the contemporary art sector.

The project’s deliverables encompassed everything from printed collateral and merchandise to motion graphics and environmental branding, all unified by a contemporary typeface and vibrant colour palette that mirror the programme's innovative spirit.

We knew it was a big request to ask you to create a visual identity for a new kind of project for us. Throughout the process, you were open, communicative, and demonstrated a deep understanding of our needs and briefs. The final result looks incredible! Your entire team was an absolute pleasure to work with. Тo have a sub brand for a specific exhibition was a new kind of project for us, too. It required a different approach, and the decision to go for it really impacted the way our visitors saw the gallery. They experienced the exhibition in a more playful way, got easily involved. The overall participation and enjoyment increased compared to that of our, let’s say.. more “usual” offerings. Thank you for the bright and bold final designs and your thoughtful contribution throughout the process! You're a great team to work with and hope we can collaborate again soon!
